Senior Print and Digital Designer

Your mission
The Senior Print and Digital Designer will be responsible for the visual layout of our weekly magazine and its digital counterparts. This role requires a strong eye for detail, speed, and accuracy, as well as experience in creating digital versions of print publications for various platforms, including Apple News +. Proficiency in motion graphics and designing social media assets and promotional materials is essential. The ideal candidate will also be a proficient visual storyteller with a genuine interest in women's lifestyle content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Layout Design
    1. Design and layout pages for the weekly print magazine, ensuring high standards of viisual appeal, readability and brand consistency
    2. Work closely with editors, photographers and writers to create engaging cohesive visual content
  • Digital Adaptation 
    1. Convert print layouts into digital formats for multiple platforms, including Apple News +, ensuring a seamless and optimized reader experience 
    2. Maintain the integrity of the magazines design across all digital platforms 
  • Motion Graphics 
    1. Create compelling motion graphics for digital editions, social media and promotional use 
    2. Enhance digital content with animations and interactive elements to engage readers 
  • Social Media and Promotional Design 
    1. Design visually appealing social media assets to promote magazine content across various platforms
    2. Develop promotional materials that align with the magazine’s brand identity and marketing strategy 
  • Visual Storytelling
    1. Utilise strong visual storytelling skills to create compelling narratives that resonate with our audience
    2. Ensure that all visual content supports and enhances the editorial voice of HELLO! Magazine
  • Collaboration and Communication 
    1. Collaborate with the editorial and marketing teams to ensure visual content aligns with editorial and promotional goals
    2. Communicate effectively with team members to manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Quality Control 
    1. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all design work
    2. Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and are free of errors

Your profile
  • Experience with digital publishing platforms, including Apple News +
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in print layout, digital design, motion graphics, and social media assets
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Proficient visual storyteller with a genuine interest in women's lifestyle content
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in print and digital design, preferably in the magazine or publishing industry
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
