Your mission

As the Brand Creative Director of HELLO! you will provide strategic leadership and direction to our creative team, shaping the overall creative vision of our brand and driving innovation across all aspects of our content production. You will oversee the conceptualization, development, and execution of compelling visual and editorial content, ensuring it resonates with our audience and advances our brand objectives.

Prior experience of working for a media company is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creative Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the creative team, inspiring excellence and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity.

  • Strategic Direction: Develop and communicate a clear creative vision aligned with the company’s overall objectives, guiding the team in the execution of innovative and impactful content strategies.

  • Content Development: Oversee the creation of compelling visual and editorial content for our print publications, website, social media channels, and other digital products, ensuring it reflects the interests and aspirations of our audience.

  • Photoshoot Management: oversee the creative conception of all photoshoots, from concept development to final delivery working closely with the Creative Director, ensuring alignment with brand identity and editorial themes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with editorial, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment of creative initiatives with overall business objectives, collaborating on cross-functional projects and campaigns.

  • Brand Integrity: Maintain brand consistency and integrity across all creative assets and communications, ensuring they adhere to established brand guidelines and standards. • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback on creative work, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance.

  • Budget Oversight: Manage creative budgets effectively, allocating resources efficiently and optimizing spending to achieve desired outcomes within budgetary constraints.

  • Industry Engagement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Your profile
Extensive experience in creative roles within the print and digital media industry, with a focus on print and digital media, graphic design, and visual storytelling is required. Experience with women's lifestyle content preferred.

Creative Portfolio: A robust portfolio demonstrating creative projects across different media formats is essential. This portfolio should showcase your ability to conceptualize and execute engaging content across platforms such as digital media, social media, print and video platforms, and oversee all aspects of production to ensure the highest quality visual content.
Experience

Prior experience of working for a media company is required for this role.

Technical Expertise: Proficiency in multimedia production tools and software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).

Strong understanding of photography principles, including composition, lighting, and image editing techniques.

Familiarity with web design tools, content management systems (CMS), and digital publishing platforms for creating and distributing content online.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills are required to oversee creative teams and projects effectively. You should be able to inspire creativity, provide strategic direction, and foster collaboration among team members. Effective communication and the ability to motivate and empower staff are essential.

Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset is required, understanding the broader goals and objectives of the organization or media outlet. You will need to align creative initiatives with business objectives, audience preferences, and market trends, ensuring that content remains relevant and impactful.

Adaptability and Innovation: Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies, industry trends, and business needs, while maintaining a focus on innovation and creativity.

Industry Knowledge: Staying informed about media industry trends, emerging technologies, and audience behaviours is essential. You should be proactive in seeking out new opportunities and adapting to changes in the media landscape to remain competitive.

Qualifications
A degree in a relevant field such as graphic design, digital media, visual communications, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in related fields are advantageous.
