Your mission
We are looking for a weekend writer, working Friday to Sunday. The role is focused on researching and writing stories for the website after collecting, verifying and analysing thoroughly newsworthy information. Researching includes interviewing experts, sources and celebrities and gathering first-hand accounts of events as well as investigating news leads/tips. It also requires forward planning for future events, and securing exclusives. Content produced must be up to the minute, accurate, well presented and in keeping with the core values and tone of the HELLO! brand.
Key Responsibilities
Research and write articles for HELLO! online
Write regular features and galleries as directed
Lead weekend shift and sub stories from colleagues
Leading breaking news protocol and handling magazine PRs on a Sunday afternoon
Upload and oversee promotion of magazine exclusives on a Sunday afternoon
Establishing and maintaining contacts
Verifying statements and facts
Contacting and interviewing sources
Maintaining audio recordings and notes
Social media knowledge: echobox and scheduling
Daily monitoring of your stories via GA and Chartbeat
Your profile
We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Weekend Senior Online Writer with strong leadership skills and a passion for digital content. The ideal candidate will be proactive, take initiative, and have in-depth experience with content management systems (CMS), Google Analytics, Chartbeat, SEO best practices, and Apple News.
