About SECOND ACT
HELLO! Magazine’s Second Act is a platform and community celebrating and supporting women in midlife. It reframes midlife as a time of possibility, reinvention, and empowerment, offering inspiration, advice, and stories from women embracing their next chapter. Second Act combines expert guidance, community engagement, and immersive experiences to help women live their most confident, exciting, and fulfilled lives.
The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Editor to lead Second Act, building and shaping this editorial pillar into a thriving mini-business. This is more than a traditional editorial role; you will be a visionary content leader, a community-builder, and a growth-orientated thinker, with the freedom to innovate across digital, print, newsletter, social, video, audio, and live events.
You will work closely with HELLO!’s core editorial, social, video, podcast, marketing, and audience development teams, but you will own the creative vision for Second Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the editorial vision and strategy for Second Act, ensuring it resonates with women in midlife and beyond.
- Create and commission compelling content across digital, print, newsletter, social, video, and podcasts, optimised for engagement, reach, and discoverability (including Google Discover and Apple News).
- Drive audience growth and engagement by developing innovative content series, interactive experiences, and community initiatives.
- Identify and develop monetisation opportunities, including live events, masterclasses, partnerships, and other revenue streams, while maintaining editorial integrity.
- Collaborate with HELLO!’s teams to leverage cross-platform expertise in marketing, audience development, and commercial strategy.
- Track and analyse content performance to inform strategy and maximise impact.
- Build relationships with contributors, experts, and influencers aligned with Second Act’s mission.
Champion the
Second Act brand both internally and externally, becoming the voice and face of this exciting platform.
